Instruments and Network
The network shall be NMEA2000 and compatible vendor versions. Currently, actually just Raymarine Seatalk ng.
Starting at the rear of the quarterberth at one end of the bus, I have
- Garmin chartplotter (NMEA spur to STNG hub via adapter cable)
- EV-1 sensor
- Wheel pilot ACU
Thence by STNG bus with NMEA adapter to main panel. Behind the electrical panel, I have an NMEA 2000 hub, with:
- Sci-tex AIS
- Yacht Devices YDWG
- Yacht Devices YDRI
- Raspberry Pi running Signalk, Influxdb and Graphna
Also, via NMEA / STNG adapter:
- iTC-5 hub for wind and water sensors
Via STNG bus to instrument cluster for cockpit instruments to right of companionway
- i70S display head for wind and other display
- p70S display head for autopilot

Each connection has a story, in the following pages...
Software update notes
Raymarine describes the whole process here.
Odd that they provide updates, but then warn you that attempting to apply them may void your warranty.
But the kicker seems to be that, while they provide an ISO with the most current software for all their products, you must have a RayMarine MFD to actually do the update! Or you can cart all your components to a Raymarine dealer, and they will do it for you...
